Telomeres

 Telomeres are the end segments of eukaryotic chromosomes that keep them from attaching to other chromosomes. Sometimes called ‘end filler’ for the DNA, telomeres are vital to cell protection.

Telomeres, crucial DNA sequences at both ends of the chromosome, are thought to determine cellular life span, which in turn determine aging and cancer. Many scientists are studying telomeres as an answer to human mortality and aging.
