MSMMSM, also known methylsulfonylmethane or dimethylsulfone, is a sulfuric compound that is around 30% sulfur. It is found naturally in some ancient plants, small amounts in numerous beverages and foods, and is most notably sold as a regulated dietary supplement.Because the amount of MSM in plants and foods is so small, it cannot be extracted for use in dietary supplements and must be manufactured by reacting hydrogen peroxide with dimethyl sulfoxide, while purity is achieved by distillation or crystallization. Scientific studies have proven that it is safe as a anti-inflammatory agent and that it may contribute to joint health. MSM is although thought to improve the shininess of hair and nails, while contributing to the suppleness of ones skin. Points of Interest
