DO MAINSTREAM INSTITUTIONS RECOGNIZE COMPLEMENTARY OR ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE ?To some extent, this seems to be the case, or, rather, increasingly the case. The NIH, or national institutes of health, has a division known as the national center for complementary and alternative medicine.
