How much alpha-carotene is too much ?
No Tolerable Upper Limit has been set for alpha-carotene. And to date there have been no reports of toxicity linked to alpha-carotene consumption in healthy individuals.
However, individuals with hypothyroidism often have difficulty converting alpha-carotene to vitamin A. Consequently, these individuals may wish to avoid alpha-carotene supplements.
