Can you get enough Inositol from food and dietary sources ?

Bacteria in the intestines convert the phytic acid found in plant fibers into inositol, so the body is able to manufacture its own supply of inositol. And, in fact, it is rare that anyone is seriously deficient for inositol.

However, people with diets low in fruits and vegetables, or those who consume large amounts of caffeine may want to consider inositol supplementation. Inositol is available both as a separate supplement containing myo-inositol and choline, and as a component of lecithin supplements.
