Can you get enough Paba from food and dietary sources ?

The body receives a constant supply of PABA from friendly bacteria residing in the intestines, so there is probably no need to supplement this substance. In addition, PABA occurs naturally in a variety of dietary sources, including kidney, liver, wheat germ, brown rice, whole grain, molasses, mushrooms, and spinach.

If you are experiencing symptoms of PABA deficiency, which include excessive hair loss or breakage, depression, fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, early graying of the hair, irritability, nervousness, headache, and patchy areas of white skin, you may want to consider taking small doses of PABA. However, in light of the serious side effects associated with an overdose of this substance, it’s best to proceed with caution—follow all dosage instructions on the packaging, and consult a physician before supplementing with PABA.
