What conditions or problems is vitamin b3 niacin used for ?
Vitamin B3 is helpful for a number of conditions and health problems. For starters, niacin helps prevent the development of Pellagra, a potentially fatal disease.
Niacin aka B3 comes in two forms, niacinamide and nicotinic acid. Niacinamide helps prevent insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), and is the form of niacin normally found in supplements. Nicotinic acid is prescribed for patients to reduce blood cholesterol levels, and is sometimes used in conjunction with other prescription medications to dramatically reduce cholesterol levels. Vitamin B3 may also be used to treat dizziness and ringing in the ears (tinnitus), Raynauds syndrome, PMS, headaches and cramps, and other circulatory conditions and problems (niacin makes your blood vessels widen and thus improves circulation).
