How much alpha-carotene is enough ?
How much of this antioxidant is enough? There is no Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for alpha-carotene. However, the National Academy of Sciences recommends that individuals consume five or more servings of fruits and vegetables every day to get sufficient amounts of alpha-carotene (cooked carrots and pumpkins are a great source of carotenoids, including, you guessed it, alpha-carotene).
Alpha-carotene is also available in supplement form, by itself, or in combination with other nutrients (such as a multi-vitamin). Return to: Vitamin Stuff homepage Vitamin B9 overview Vitamin B9 questions & answers Information on vitamins |
