ProanthocyanidinsProanthyocyanidin, aka oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC), is in the class of antioxidants known as flavonoids. They are found in woody plants such as grape seeds, white pine, horse chestnut, witch hazel and blackjack oak, as well as barley, chocolate, red wine, rose hips, sorghum, apples and berries.Proanthyocyanidins are superior antioxidants known to potentiate other antioxidants and destroy free radicals. They are thought to have many health benefits from cancer and cardiovascular disease prevention and the treatment of allergies, to improving blood circulation and collagen elasticity.
